Orange Regional Medical Center

  1. Orange Regional Medical Center

Saving funding needed for an important regional hospital
to rebuild and modernize for the future

Orange Regional Medical Center in New York’s Hudson Valley planned to consolidate its outdated campuses and build the first new hospital in New York State in over 20 years. Unfortunately, the plan was nearly dashed when its primary funder, the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), reached its legislatively-mandated financing cap. Unless the New York State Legislature voted to raise DASNY’s bond ceiling and the Governor quickly signed the legislation, the urgently-needed rebuilding of the Regional Medical Center would be impossible.

Geto & de Milly mobilized a broad civic and political coalition, including influential healthcare and construction unions, local elected officials and editorial boards, to persuade the Legislature and the Governor to act on an emergency basis. Our efforts secured a favorable, fast-track DASNY vote and, facilitated by
Geto & de Milly’s close relationship with the Executive Chamber, the legislation was expeditiously signed into law.
